I had this done several times sometimes for testing other times for insemination procedures. Usually the Dr has a private room with videos and other visual aids. You are not allowed to use lubrication and the sample can not be obtained during intercourse or oral sex. You masterbate into a sterile cup and hand it to a lab tech or in some instances a small box that the tech can access while you are composing yourself. My experience is Infertility Drs have the best set up for this task. Hospitals are usually not as prepared to deal with this potentially embarrassing procedure. You will also have to abstain for 3-5 days before your test so an accurate sperm count can be obtained. good luck to you everything worked out for us eventually and it was worth it.Need some advice on this. for your semen analysis,you should not ejaculate 3 days before your semen to be collected, the health provider or the personnel in charge will give you instruction, she/he will give you a container and you will be pointed to enter a room where there is tv or adult magazine, you will be alone in the room for you to ejaculate and put your semen in the container and after you done that immediately you will give that container to the one in charge. dont be ashame to them, that is their job they are professionals.
You dont even have to go if you dont want, they can give your wife a sterile cup with lid that you ejaculate into at home and she can drop it off. Its really very simple and stress free.

Are you afraid to take the test. You know what is you i think.
it is just routine test as like blood and urine examination done.go to pathologist and they will guide you. your semen sample will be collected for microscopic examination.
They will give you a small jar and send you to the bathroom. You have to masturbate and get the semen. If you are not mentally comfortable, do it at home, collect it in a bottle and carry it to the lab. Do not spend more time in carrying. You should reach within 10 to 15 minutes. Do not have sex and get the semen. You have to get by masturbating.
Gosh, i dont know for sure but I would imagene its like donating the sperm, they ask you to do your business and then put it in a cup. Sorry if that isnt the way.


You could try calling the docs office and just asking what you can expect when you have your appt. They are usually pretty willing to explain.
Been there and done that. Not a problem, the labs prefer that you give a sample close to the lab, they will want to know the exact time of ejaculation. If you do decide to do it at home and then drop off your sample, you have to keep the sample warm. These test will provide your doctor the information needed to assist in the family making process.
