I have a big family reuinion coming up.. we do it once a year.. I need advice on what kind of food to make?

I need a fairly simple recipe that can feed a lot of people, or just a name of a dish I could prepare and I will look the recipe up. Thank you.I have a big family reuinion coming up.. we do it once a year.. I need advice on what kind of food to make?
if it's not too late, try to envoke a pot luck. we had 1st generation bring dessert, 2nd generation bring main dish and 3rd generation brought side dishes. It worked out wonderfully and we had plenty of food! plus the burden didn't fall on one person. But some of the things taht went off well were,

Costco pizza ( big pizza feeds a lot of people)

ribs

Pasta salad ( very easy and feeds a lot)

long sub sandwich

fruit salad

chicken strips

bbq hot dogs and hamburgers

lasagna (but very time consuming)

corn on the cob

garlic bread

ANYHING AT COSTCO OR SAMS WILL USUALLY SERVE A LARGE AMMOUNT OF PEOPLE FOR CHEAPERI have a big family reuinion coming up.. we do it once a year.. I need advice on what kind of food to make?
what about salad? it is simple and GOOD.
This would be a good dessert to make.. it serves about 15 to 18 people..

1 white cake mix (bake according to directions in a 9x13 inch baking dish and cool before using, cut into 1 inch squares)

3 boxes vanilla (4 oz size) instant pudding

4 cups milk

1 large tub Cool Whip

fruit (strawberries, peaches, blueberries raspberries etc..)

Mix pudding mix with 4 cups milk and beat until thick but not too thick....

layer in bowl ( I just use a punch bowl), cake, pudding, cool whip, fruit.. etc... make sure to end up with fruit on top

or you can use chocolate cake, chocolate pudding* , cool whip and bits of chocolate bars... layer in bowl...

*( I mix 2 vanilla and one chocolate pudding together with the 4 cups of milk)
try making a big pot of chicken noodle soup as aan appetizer and its very easy to make the recipes are slices of chicken or cut owever you want to cut it, carrots, green peas, salt and maggi, light curry, baby corns, tiny bits of broccoli any type of vegetables of your choice add water and leave to boil........wait till the chicken is well cooked before adding the veggies so they wont loose their characteristic colours.
baked ziti and many loaves of crusty bread with butter
Italian Beef Sandwiches

1 large lean beef roast (not chuck)

1 pkg. dry italian dressing mix (Good Seasons)

1 pkg. dry Zesty italian dressing mix

1 cup water

Night before, put water %26amp; dressing mixes in crockpot and stir to mix. Add roast and cook on high for 1 hour. Turn to low and go to bed. Next morning, shred beef with two forks. Continue to cook on low until serving time.

Serve on Sub buns, or cuban rolls if you can get them. Garnish with pepperoncini or kosher dill pickle. Excellent with side of cole slaw or chips.
Try Baked Mac 'n Cheese, I Had this at my Family reunion, and it was a big hit. Try a Potluck too!
My fave recipe that is oh so easy and feeds a lot of people is Baked Ziti. It is also inexpensive to make. Try this one! It is so good! Have a good time at your reunion! God Bless! :)

Baked Ziti

Ingredients:

2 lb. ground beef

1 large onion, chopped

1 jar (4 lb. 3 oz.) Prego庐 Fresh Mushroom Italian Sauce (7 1/2 cups)

1 box (16 oz.) tube-shaped pasta (ziti) (medium tube-shaped pasta), cooked and drained

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

COOK beef and onion in saucepot until browned. Pour off fat.

STIR in pasta sauce, ziti and 2 cups mozzarella cheese. Spoon into 2 (12 1/2';x8 1/2';x2';) disposable foil pans. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.

BAKE at 350掳F. for 30 min. or until hot.

TIP: To freeze, prepare ziti but do not bake. Cover with foil and freeze. Bake frozen ziti, uncovered, at 350掳F. for 1 hr. or until hot. Or refrigerate 24 hr. to thaw. Bake thawed ziti, uncovered, at 350掳F. for 45 min. or until hot.

***Also, the great thing about this recipe is that you can make it ahead and freeze it if you need to, and bake before you go!!
If you need a meat dish, try a pulled pork. I brown a pork shoulder in a large pot after seasoning with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Then I add water, onions, garlic, beef base and a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar. I simmer until it falls off the bone. I remove it from the liquid and shred it with a fork, put it back in the pan, add 1 cup of the cooking liquid and a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce. Serve on rolls a dollop of cabbage salad and a drizzle of extra barbecue sauce.
Here are some meal suggestions:

-Mashed potatoes, meatloaf, corn on the cob, and chocolate cake

-Chow mein, orange chicken, sauteed veggies, and chinese almond float

-White rice, teriyaki chicken, small salad, and mochi icecream

-Spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, green beans, and cheesecake

-Tacos/Burritos, beans%26amp; rice, cole slaw, and flan

That`s all I can come up with. As you can see, they`re all in a theme with each other for example: Japanese, Mexican, Italian..you know what I mean :]

Another tip: Serve a starch, a meat, a veggie, a fruit and a desert. Plus some drinks. What ever you choose to cook, make sure you buy your ingredients in bulk so that the price is cheaper. Plus, make sure that the kids will eat what you prepare :]

Hope I helped!

You can never go wrong with a chicken dish of some sort, whether is it a bucket full of fried chicken or a casserole that you can make. :)
We always do BBQ. Why not a large brisket? It takes a long time to do on the BBQ but it is worth it. We usually marinate the brisket in beer for a day or two in the fridge before we cook it. You could also BBQ some bone-in chicken breasts and thighs. If you're feeling really excited about BBQ, you could also do some country style pork ribs.

We also have BBQ beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, tossed salad (with salad dressing), bread, butter, and gallons upon gallons of unsweetened iced tea.

I grew up in a huge family in Texas so you can understand the BBQ.
