Animal and family advice would be nice...im pissed off?

there is a certain type of cat breed i want for my birthday(i would even pay for some of it). Do you think that just because my dad's girlfriend doesn't like that cat breed he wont ge ME that kind.

by the way do you think its cute. she thinks its ugly just because it has blue eyes and a little bit of a flat face. she also thinks that tabby cats and ones like that are what cats SHOULD look like.

It sounds like you and your dad's girlfriend are having ';control issues';! I personally love the blue eyes........I must, since I raised Siamese / Himalayan mixes for over 14 years, and have 11 of them in my home, now!

Hopefully, your wishes will be more important to your father, than the opinion of his girlfriend. If that turns out to not be the case, then wait until you grow up, have your own home and the money to take care of your animal........then get yourself whatever kind you want!

Good luck...............Animal and family advice would be nice...im pissed off?
If you're still living in your dad's house, you're kinda stuck with his rules. I wouldn't bring a cat into the house unless you're sure there's not chance s/he may become unwelcome at some point. I realize that this kind of situation can be frustrating, and your dad's girlfriend's opinion about what is considered attractive doesn't really matter. I suggest waiting a little longer. This way, dad's gf may change her mind, dad may decide that her opinion on the matter isn't the deciding factor, or he may even get another girlfriend. But, in my opinion, you shouldn't bring a cat into such a negative environment at the moment.
Is this your dad's girlfriend or fiance? Do they live together? If you are living in their house, then there is not much of a choice if your dad is in agreement with her. I would speak to my father about the one that you want, let him know you will be responsible for the food, water and cleaning the litterbox EVERY DAY. If he still doesn't agree, and whatever cat they want (they will be the one raising it after you leave for school/marriage/military anyway) is the only way you are getting one, then, well, you either get what they want and live with it, or wait until you are on your own, in your own household.
Is she arguing that you should get a cat from a shelter or just that you shouldn't get the breed you want?

You can look up ragdoll rescue organizations if it's a matter of helping a kitty versus buying one from a breeder. But you'll probably have to be ok with getting an adult instead of a kitten.

Although you can get some similar looking kitties from the shelter too. The smug little one in this pic looks a little like some ragdoll kittens I've seen and he was found alone in the median of a busy road: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh149鈥?/a>

You can teach her that the blue eyes are perfectly normal and are the result of the gene(s) that produce the pointed pattern on the cat's coat. So any cat with that pattern - ragdoll, siamese... and some domestic short/longhairs will always have blue eyes.

I do think it's best to get a shelter or rescue kitty, but that's my opinion.

If his gf is so concerned then she can go get herself a tabby. This isn't her cat anyway, so why should it matter if she doesn't like how it looks?

good luck!
you poor soul i can't believe he won't gt it because his girlfriend doesn't like the way it looks that is call racist (i think) and you'll pay for gease i have a tabby but still it's your pet say that you will take care of it and she/he could sleep in your room and you'll clean it's litter box and feed it clean you know all that jazz i hope you get that cat i love cats here are some name suggestions:http://www.petrix.com/catnames/c.html i like camille, chelsea, mia, daisy, azzula, and ginger hope i help please tell if you get him
hey i have a tabby cat!

oh but with your question;

1. the link doesnt work.

ask your dad if hes just not getting the cat because of his girlfriend and if he says yes tell him its not her decision which cat breed you want. its up to you not her. its going to be YOUR cat. tell him that. good luck:)
Ragdolls are great and beautiful cats. Let your Dad read my email to remind him that his girlfriend is not your Mom, and that what you get for your BD should be up to you and him. Good luck.
I couldn't get the page to open but rag dolls are one of the sweetest and prettiest breeds of cat. Shame on dad's gf. She shouldn't dictate what YOU get. just mho
I would hope your dad would not use his girlfriend's taste to dictate what he would buy for you. You need to talk it over with him and let him know how you feel.
she is not married to her so she should shut the f*** up. just tell him that.
ragdolls are great cats but expensive thinks alley cats rate too
